LESLIE JOSEPH BLIGHT was a student prior to joining the Royal Australian Navy in 1941.
He was a STOKER on HMAS NESTOR. Leslie lost his life when German bombs were dropped on NESTOR on 16th June 1942.
Leslie was the son of Les Blight – farmer, wheat lumper, storekeeper and post master for many years in Beacon.

LESLIE JOSEPH BLIGHT’s name is included on the commemorative plaque standing in front of the Beacon Men’s Shed along with the names of other WWII men connected to Beacon, Western Australia, who gave their life serving their country.
